These terms govern your use of this website, paperlesszen.com, which is operated by Rigason™. By using the site, you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed past, so they are short and in plain language.

One thing to be clear about up front: these terms cover the website. Use of the PaperlessZen™ product itself, the system where institutions store and govern their documents, is governed by the separate agreement each customer signs with Rigason™. If anything here appears to conflict with a signed customer agreement, the signed agreement wins.

Ownership and trademarks

PaperlessZen™ is a product of Rigason™ and is owned and operated by Rigason™. PaperlessZen™, the PaperlessZen™ name and logo, “Rigason™”, and the tagline “Decades of paper. Seconds to the answer.” are trademarks of Rigason™. All content on this site, including copy, page designs, and graphics, is the copyrighted property of Rigason™ unless otherwise noted, and may not be reproduced without permission. All other product and company names referenced on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners, and their use does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Using this site

You are welcome to read, link to, and share what we publish here. You may not misrepresent it as your own, scrape it at volume, use it to build a competing dataset or service, probe or disrupt the site’s operation, or use the site for anything unlawful. That is the whole list, and it amounts to: use the site the way an honest reader would.

We publish templates, checklists, and educational pages about topics like gift agreements, records retention, and legal holds. They are starting points written to be useful, not legal advice, and reading them does not create any professional relationship with Rigason™. Retention obligations, hold obligations, and agreement language vary by institution and jurisdiction. Have your counsel review anything you adopt. We say the same thing on the templates themselves, and we mean it.

The product is in early beta

PaperlessZen is an early-beta product, and this site describes it honestly: some capabilities are generally available, some are available to early customers on request, and some are on the roadmap. Where a page names a status, that status is the claim we stand behind. Descriptions on this site are information about the product, not a contractual promise of any particular feature; the features a customer is entitled to are the ones named in their agreement with us.

What we don’t promise about the website

We work to keep this site accurate, current, and available, and because we are human, we do not guarantee that it always will be. The site and its content are provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rigason™ disclaims warranties about the site’s completeness, accuracy, and availability, and is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the site’s content or from interruptions to it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Where this site links to third-party sites or services, those links are provided for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their practices.

Privacy

How we handle personal information, on this site and in the product, is described in our privacy policy. It is part of the picture these terms sit in, and it is written in the same plain language.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the effective date at the top. Meaningful changes will be stated plainly, not buried. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
